Day 5: Playing Like a Kid

Monday, August 27, 2012

Today, I spent the whole afternoon with my partner and his five-year-old at a small but crowded amusement park in town. Though exhausting, it was refreshing to see the world through her eyes - full of wonder and joy at being tossed around by questionably safe machines in the sunshine. Things are pretty simple in her world. A good reminder for when things seem overwhelming to us "grown-ups."

On the cleanse front, I can't believe that it hasn't even been a week since I have been doing this. Feels like a month. I still feel very tired and have lots of cravings. Hoping this goes away soon. What I have to remember is not to let myself get too hungry - I have to be prepared to eat every couple of hours, which is hard when you're mostly eating raw vegetables. But I am proud of myself for sticking to my guns even when surrounded by some of my favorites special treats: popcorn and cotton candy. I'll sleep well tonight!

Good job! It does take a while for our bodies to adjust to good food and not junk. You're doing great and going to an amusement park with a child is fantastic!!!
