I have been Wii-less for like 2 days!

Thursday, August 23, 2012

No, this is the 3rd day! and I use it as my scale! I know, don't trip on the scale. And I don't. For the most part. But for the Other part, I do like to see both the gains and the losses. The losses of course for the usual reasons, but I also like to see the gains, well I don't LIKE to see gains, but what I mean is that when there is a gain, it helps me to fine tune so that I can eventually see more losses. I am learning that when I eat this, this happens, etc.

And I figure it is just as well. I have added back in more activity, which I know will likely mean a temporary gain in terms of water, etc. But I was hoping to be in a new decade this week so I was anxious to see that. I also changed a few other things that I thought might be reflected positively on the scale this week and now I don't know if they are working, though I feel like they are. I am fairly certain they are not hurting.

I do have a regular scale, a couple of the little SOBs actually, but they are just so all over the place. The Wii at least weighs me the same if I get on and off and get right back on. My other scales are just not as reliable. And I wear the same thing, I stand in the exact same spot on the Wii, etc so I have a system.

Then the other day, I get to the screen where I have to put in my pin. Yes I keep it locked. For one thing I don't want anyone to see my numbers, but also I dont want anyone else to mess up my stats. I also keep the volume muted so I can't hear it groan when I step on, & I (or anyone else in another room) can't hear it call me names. (yes it is a love-hate relationship I guess but all part of my "system")

So I try to put in my pin, and my remote just won't work anymore. It was fine, then it's not fine. The day before, it kept losing signal to it, but would come right back. So I am thinking it might be the batteries. So I go to get a couple out of the drawer, and normally I would just throw the old ones out but seems like I just changed them not that long ago, so what if it isn't the batteries? So I take one out in my hand, and put one in. I go to take the other one out... now.... which one did I just take out and which one is the good one to put back in? OH, I don't know, so I try a couple of scenarios, moving batteries around and nothing is working, so I just get two more brand new ones out of the drawer. Geesh.

Well, it didnt help. All this high-tech gadgety stuff - I really need an 8 year old around to help me figure it out, and there won't be one around here until tonight. So I guess I have to be patient... and wait. Not my strong point but at least I am proving to myself that I am NOT obsessed with it. (hmmm I wonder if I can just go buy another one today, I could be there and back and have it working by noon....) Just kidding. emoticon If I leave now, I could probably be back by Ten!! emoticon

Hope you get the Wii figured out! I was doing well until my SIL started working from home a lot. I live over their garage and had to go to the house to use it. They replaced the one they had repaired when it quit the second time. I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to try to fix it again and have it in my apartment, since I could borrow most everything else from them. I've never found it to be very accurate for weight, but maybe it's the carpet it sits on.

I have been wanting to try out the wii fit. It looks like it would be a fun workout. It's cool that you can use it as a scale too.
