My SMART Goals
Wednesday, August 22, 2012
I watched a video on the SparkCoach regarding making SMART goals and I was highly motivated to makes some goals of my own. Here is my attempt to make some goals. I reserve the right to adjust as needed
What: Hit my dream weight of 150lbs
Where: Not sure how to answer this one but I’ll say in my life
When: By January 8, 2013
How: By eliminating processed food and eating food as close to their natural state as possible. Eliminate sweets since sweets are a trigger food for me. Calorie deficiency of 400 a day.
Why: To be within a healthy weight range for my height and to avoid health issues in the future.
How much: Lose 16lbs (average about .8lbs a week)
How Often: Workout 6 days a week for at least 60 minutes. Strength Train full body at least twice a week. Also, if I bite it I write it down including my grazing, snacks and nibbles.
How Many: I will not focus only on calories. In addition, I will increase my protein to at least 100g daily and working my way up to 150g every day and keeping my carbohydrates to fewer than 200g and eventually not over 150g per day.
I have a gym membership that has childcare that we pay for that I can use everyday for 2hrs. I also have exercise dvds at home as well as hand weights and dumbbells. I also have an affordable dietitian that I can make an appointment with if I need help with making healthy food choices.
I know that I can achieve this goal with a lot of hard work and determination. I was able to reach 149lbs and maintain it for a few years until medical issue (GI) started to appear. I felt comfortable there and I know this time around I will appreciate being at that weight a lot more.
I have a deadline of Jan 8, 2013. That would mean that I would need that I need to average a loss of 0.8lbs a week.
As SparkCoach Nicole says BE POSITIVE – Focus on what I will do rather than what I won’t do. Track successes instead of failures.
