A dog in a sweater. In Texas. In August.

No pictures for you yet, but I'll have to take one at some point.

Poor pup. VIXTERLU's awesome advice about losing the cone of shame and using a t-shirt instead works beautifully, but did you know dog clothes come in seasons? Apparently, even though it is still in the 100's, it is time for the sweaters to come in, and the t-shirts to be GONE!

We got Binkley a black turtleneck sweater with white skulls on it. He looks like a "too cool for you" club kid. It cracks me up every time I see it, but he isn't licking his stitches, and he isn't standing in the middle of the room moaning with the cone of shame on. Thanks VIX!

As for me, I'm finally feeling like I'm prepped for the semester. I might even take a day of laziness with the girls today.

Tomorrow is the big excitement. It is our family tradition each summer to go to Schlitterbahn (an enormous water park about an hour away). We take the kids of some good family friends, and we go for the long haul. Open to close. We pack healthy lunches, fruits, veg, and then of course some NOT healthy snacks. We usually wind up splitting two funnel cakes six ways too. We even pack dinner, since we are there that late! The cool thing is, all the walking, climbing stairs and trying to gracefully get into tubes makes the day an awesome workout too.

My fitness minutes tomorrow will be EASY PEASY to get.

Plus... I'm wearing a freaking BIKINI the whole day. Yeah, it has a skirted bottom because my upper thighs are not ready for prime time (even below my goal weight). But it is a bikini, and I'm not going to be self conscious this year. AT ALL.

YAY!

My dogs were good about not fussing. I usually could leave the cone of shame off and they'd leave the stitches or open sore or whatever alone.

Water park sounds like a blast. Do you live near New Braunfels? That's such a good German word, Schlitterbahn, that it makes me think NB must be near by.

    Skirted bikini - send pictures.

LOVE Schlitterbahn! Wish we lived a little closer, but we're about four hours away. Enjoy strutting your stuff in your "skirt-tini."

The water park sounds like fun. We'll be hitting our local amusement park in a few weeks. Hoping, all the walking and climbing will counteract my funnel cakes and freis as well!

Aw! Poor pup! My cat had a cone of shame this spring, and he was so sad! His stitches were on his back hip, so to get rid of his cone, I would have had to put him in a pair of pants! So he had to put up with the cone! ;)
