Okay, my last blog post was really harsh. There are times when I think the saying "you are your worst enemy" was designed just for me. Or at least that is how I feel. Luckily I am back out of that funk. I just finished watching an inspirational movie (Lying to be Perfect) and it got me thinking that if I don't try then I will always be the same. I want to try again. But I am not really sure how to reach my goals. The movie got me to finally make a goal chart so while I may not know how to reach for what I want. It will be in front of me until I figure it out. Any suggestions?

So often we look at our end result and try and "get there" by focussing on the end goal. But I think that in weight loss it can be tricky. For instance, I want to be a size 8 pants. I have always wanted to wear a size 8 and one day I hope to be a size 8. But I won't be a size 8 by hoping for it. I won't be a size 8 by making it a goal. I will be a size 8 by eating healthy foods. By exercising. By being kind to myself and my body. These progressive steps will help us get to the things we want.

I think this is the hard part about losing weight. We have to keep the end in sight as to not lose our positioning, but we have to focus on the steps we are taking in order to get there.

At least 70-80% of what a person says to themselves is negative. Sometimes the thought is not even true. People call themselves losers when they are actually successful in many areas for example. Try to make it a habit to contradict your negative thought with a positive one. Positive people tend to accomplish their goals better because they believe in themselves. emoticon

I think it is great that you have your wants and desires and goals for yourself in front of you. My sister and I both made a vision board that outlined out weight loss goals and along the way we write inspirational things on each other's board to remind us why we are doing this when times get hard. It really helps.
