Day 15. Oh Sugar!

I have been 15 days without sugar. No sugary colas, no vegan chocolate, no cupcakes or cakes or cookies. How do I feel? Wonderful!!! No more sugar highs followed by crashes. No more intense sugar cravings. No white-knuckling it past the vending machine or the goodies others bring in. I have been learning to cook with Stevia. I have an ice cream maker and plan to make my own ice cream with stevia and silk milk. That way when I want a little something sweet, I won't feel those highs and crashes. Today for lunch I made myself a thick shake with 6 oz of silk milk, frozen strawberries and flax seeds. Healthy, nutritious, yummy and better than a fast food shake. I am loving this cleanse and so thankful for everything I am learning about myself, my food choices, and my body. Every time I go on a sugar fast I love it. I truly love the feeling when I am off sugar. Why do I go back to it? Usually I am offered something after a while of abstaining and I think one bite is ok. One bite and I am off and running with the sugar again, and along come the highs, crashes, and fatigue. I plan to avoid sugar even after this cleanse but I am not going to be militant about it. I plan to go at this with the mindfulness of loving my body and feeding it well. Go Me!!!
