What's the Plan Man?

Good morning all!
First, thanks for all the nice comments in my blog about making my sister welcome here on SparkPeople. I did the link to her SparkPage wrong. I was in a rush so I'm linking to her at the bottom of this blog entry.

It's Friday morning and I'm feeling great. I'm to that point in my weight loss where I want to take on the day and get moving even at 7:30 in the morning and I am NOT a morning person. I actually feel lighter this morning.

So, what's my Friday all about? Getting to the gym and planning my meals for the week ahead. Last night at work I was thinking, "What am I hungry for? What would feel satisfying?" And I kept coming back to chili. Chili is such a great comfort food and even though it's over 100 degrees out it still appeals to me. So I found this recipe in SparkPeople recipes for Joey's Famous Vegan Chili and want to give it a try.

It makes a whopping 24 servings so I'll be freezing up a bunch of it.

I'll have that for dinner (at work) but there is still lunch (before work) and I'm thinking a sandwich with maybe a side salad or steamed vegetable. For the sandwich I'm thinking a non-chicken Chicken Salad Sammy from the cookbook The Best Veggie Burgers on the Planet.

David and I are planning on getting up really early tomorrow morning to bike to our local farmer's market to have breakfast here at The Uprooted Kitchen food truck.

So I think I'll just play it by ear and see what's fresh from the farm as far as a side veg or salad for my Chicken Salad Sammy goes.

Breakfast (like how I plan backwards?) will be puffed wheat or puffed kamut or puffed quinoa with fruit on top and almond milk. Puffed cereals are so low calorie and on sale this weekend at Sprouts, 5 for $5.

So that's the plan man! Will stick these foods into my Nutrition Tracker and see how many calories I have left over for snacks and treats.

    Your blog makes me hungry. Wish I were home to fix this "morning cereal."

    1 apple finely diced
    1 T whole flax seeds
    2 T unsweetened coconut flakes (shreds)
    2 T chopped almonds, walnuts, or pecans
    1 or 2 T small dried fruit, (cranberries, raisins, blueberries)

    Serve with almond milk.

    I usually plan my meals and grocery list on saturdays, but today I'm liking your style so I'm stealing it. emoticon
    That's ok though, you stole my idea for chili - I'm also having that tonight, to hubby's delight.
