It's Time to Get Serious
Monday, August 13, 2012
It's been a year since I joined the gym, and I'm not happy with my overall results.
Although I lost 40 lbs and 4 dress sizes over the past year, I've gained back 7 lbs and I feel like I would have gained greater results if I had cut back on my caloric intake and added more strength training to my weight loss plan.
I've decided that as I start another year of this journey, it's time for me to get more serious about my health. I am proud of the fact that I have exercised regularly considering that I hardly exercised before. I am also proud that I have tracked my calories, for the most part, when I ate mindlessly before. However, I know that I can do better this year.
It's time for me to challenge myself and not settle for where I am now, because I still have a goal to reach. I just have to keep moving forward, because I know that I can do it.
I've decided to set small goals, look at the scale less often, add more strength training, and reduce my avg daily caloric intake to 1,750. I am hoping that these changes will help me to get closer to my long-term goal.
