Another journey

Saturday, August 11, 2012

On Thursday afternoon, my best friends husband was in a motorcycle accident on Highway 24 here in Colorado Springs.

I still truly feel like I'm constantly getting knocked down. Josh is in Texas (and doing very well there so far) and I feel like I've been crazy busy ever since then.

I am so grateful that this was not another goodbye! He will live and we pray God's full healing over him every day. He has some serious injuries but he will recover and we pray have full use of his body again very soon.

He's been in ICU since Thursday and his wife needed a rest yesterday. I was blessed to be able to have friends come and care for my children so that I could stay with him while she went home to get a quick nap. She didn't want to leave him alone and I was touched to be one of two people that she would trust to care for him in her absence.

Please pray for them. They have a 3 year old son, her husband just returned from a year in Afghanistan and they both have an amazing faith in God, he is struggling with "why me?". Pray for healing for him.

I'll be heading up there again today and he should be moving to a regular room today so that will be wonderful for him and for her (she can't sleep in ICU and she hates to leave him so she's struggling to find balance) since she will be able to stay there and live in his room with him. Pray for peace for them both.

Praying for you as you are "the Parent" while dh is away! May God continue to bless you and make you a blessing to others!! I have been struck numerous times lately with the reminder of Prov. 3:5-6 -- TRUST in the Lord with all your heart and LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING ... I think God is telling me I don't need to understand, just to trust! May your friend find comfort in just knowing God is with him and has plans for his good!!

Thank you for being God's hands and heart to your friend and to her husband. I thank God along with you for his life being spared and will pray for his healing. I can understand his questions and doubt of "why me". He needs to process what happened to him in his own timing. Praying for peace that passes all understanding to cover him.
