Girl Scouts, School Starts, and the Step-Son's Coming Back to Town!

Thursday, August 09, 2012

Ok, just when I think I can't get any busier, something else jumps onto my over-flowing plate! I will have to post more later, but here's th jist:

Oldest daughter just got back from her special needs summer camp (Camp Boggy Creek, they do wonderful things!) I received an email from the camp saying that one of the campers had to leave early because she received her NEW KIDNEY!!!! emoticon

School starts in a week and a half, we've been shopping the 10 cents sale at a local church and the Humane Society Thrift Store had all clothing for $1 last weekend. School supplies are on sale at various stores, we have gotten 25 cent composition books and packs of pens, 10 cent Crayola crayons, penny duo-tang folders. All gibberish unless you have kids or are in school yourself, but to those in the know these are emoticon deals!

Girl Scouting pretty much takes the summer off, but we've been trying to have field trips at least once a month to stay in touch. Well, we are officially kicking off the 2012-2013 season with next week's school orientation. We have a booth set up to sign up and we will be starting meetings in September. First camp-out will be in October!

Last, but certainly not least, my step-son is coming to town in September! I'm so excited (well, we all are)! For those who don't know the backstory, my hubby's ex took off with his son back when son was 5 years old, and just recently the son found him on Facebook! Son is 21 and we had him over for Thanksgiving (and hunting lol) and Bike Week. Now, we will have a birthday celebration (his birthday is two weeks after he goes back to Virginia). The girls are loving having an older brother, and he seems to enjoy them, as well emoticon

Well, I will post more as it happens (that is, if I have the time lol). Sometimes I wish it were as easy as FB to update my SP status, just a quick text message lol. Yes, I have an outdated phone, but she's been good to me, been run over by a neighbor's Toyota Camry after my then-four-year-old dropped it out of my moving Jeep emoticon
