wednesday the eighth

Well today was a little victory for me. I went to workout and did my longest workout yet. Let me start from the beginning, I woke up at 10 this morning and had breakfast. I didn't really feel like working out, but I knew that I had to. I got my dad to drive me to the bus at Bayshore Mall and I caught the green line headed downtown. I belong to Planet Fitness because the membership costs only $10 a month, which I can afford, but the location is really inconvenient to me. The bus ride from Bayshore mall is half an hour from my house and I tend to get tension headaches whenever I do anything on the bus, like read or knit or whatever. I realized when I was on the bus that I forgot to pack a change of underwear or my workout bra. I was full of excuses, but I sucked it up and went to workout anyway.

I biked on the stationary bike for 35 min. and went 7 miles. After going on the bike machine I didn't want to end it so I went on the treadmill and walked for 30 min at 2.5 and went 1 mile. After working out I went to the shower room and weighed myself, I was really afraid that I had gained a lot of weight from vacation, like 4-6 lbs, but I had only gained 2! I always weigh myself on wednesday at Planet fitness before I shower when I am naked. I skipped last week for obvious reasons.

After I worked out I went to the Milwaukee public library and got a few books out. I wanted to check out the Sparkpeople cookbook, but the 3 copies they had were checked out. I reserved one and can't wait till it is returned so I can check it out. It started to drizzle when I was waiting at the bus stop. I took the bus back to Bayshore and my dad picked me up and took me home. He picked me up at 6:30ish and I went home and snacked. Today was my mom's first day back at school, so we aren't eating until 8pm at least. I over ate today, I was surprised by how many calories I ate. I am glad that I am not putting pressure on myself yet, I think that by just seeing what I am eating I can change it better. For dinner tonight I am going to make sloppy joe's for dinner with a recipe I got from SP. I am looking forward to getting back to cooking again.

Well that was my day up to now. I don't know what I want to do tomorrow yet, it is supposed to be raining a lot, so I might not go downtown, but I want to workout, so I hope I can go.

Wow! Nice workout :) I have to take the bus also.. and it sucks :/ But you get more walking in that way! Gratz on not gaining too much :) It's always fun to splurge a little! And baby steps into good eating habits are always a plus! Have a good Friday emoticon

Is there room in your home that you can do some exercising? See if you can rent some workout dvds from the library to try - if you like them you can buy them for yourself - that way you can work out at home on days you can't make the long trek to the gym. You could also try an SP workout video if you can set up your computer in a way that you can see it whle you work out. In the least you can always work on some bodyweight exercies (pushups, crunches, leg lifts, etc). Having options for days when your preferred option won't work will help make sure you do something to stay on track. Keep working on making the better choices!

Consiousness is no small achievement. Jesus it sounds a bit like some sort of buddha or confusions saying.
    Well done & hugs
