Sharing Life

Tuesday, August 07, 2012

My life. I don't want to write about my life. It's mine. Not the whole world's. My son and I are the same in that. Ask us to make something up and we can write all day. Ask us to write a paragraph about what we did yesterday and we'll sit staring at the blank paper all day.

I remember the first time he was asked to write a "story" about himself. He was in first grade. He sat at his desk for two hours without writing a word and came home crying that day. There were many tears that year because the schools seem to think that writing about the "self" is the easiest and so best way to learn to write. Now he just conveniently "forgets" everything that happens. There are still tears on occasion.

Many people are private people and don't want to "share" with the whole world. I certainly don't, not even on Facebook. So if I write anything further here, in this "blog" perhaps it will be only to entertain, even if it's only myself.

I remember that too - it was a lame assignment. That being said, I like to hear your thoughts, which don't necessarily have to list what you did that day. Sometimes authors explore their thoughts through fiction, and if that works, it works. Some poetry would be cool too! ;)

I don't see why I blog can't be fictional... if it works, it works...
