Thought and Prayer for Monday, August 6, 2012

Monday, August 06, 2012

There are so many times in life when we feel lost. We feel like something is just not right. We may have all we need to live on like food, clothing and shelter, but we have a nagging feeling like there is more we need to be doing or something is missing from our lives. That is when we need to go to God. Our feelings of confusion or depression are signs that He wants us to do something more than what we are already doing or do something different. We can put our hope in Him knowing His plans for us are good.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.’” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know there are times when we aren’t feeling right. We may feel like we are going through the motions. We may feel like nothing matters. We may feel like all is lost. Whatever the feelings we have, we know we can turn to You for help. Please help us, Lord, when we are feeling this way and show us what direction, what purpose, what plan You have for us and get us back on the right path for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

emoticon Blog You are so right about us sometimes going through the motions. That is exactly when God wants you to do something different. Yet it so hard for us to listen and obey those promptings. Thank you for focusing are hearts on Jesus.
