The Spoon Theory

I spend time on a bunch of different message boards. On one of the boards a member was talking about how much her husband's words hurt her that night. He implied that if she had enough energy to go out with her friends for a few hours, then she should have enough energy to work full time, clean the house, and cook dinner. The member of this particular board has MS. Her explanation to the board was that this was the first day in a long time where she was actually feeling pretty good and she wanted to do something fun - something normal - with that time. She was hurt that her husband didn't seem to want to understand that.
Another board member posted a link to "The Spoon Theory" as a way to explain how something like MS feels to the person who has the disease. The person who wrote The Spoon Theory has lupus, but the idea as far as energy consumption is very much the same. So... for your reading (and potentially your understanding) pleasure, visit butyoudontlooksick.com/n
