Not going back to fad diets!

Took my older daughter's wedding gown to the consignment shop yesterday. A sad story I won't relate here other than to say that after a year of tears, she is now happily having adventures with E-Harmony.
The ladies at the shop were all about a new diet regimen where you drink two protein shakes a day and that's it.
I thought "But I'm making permanent changes to my diet and exercise."
I told them about Sparkpeople.com but they weren't interested when I told them about writing down everything you eat.
Yes, as my doctor said to me last week, "It's not easy." But it's not so hard either! Really quite simple. Write down everything your eat and your exercise and what water you drink.
I also check off certain goals each day.
My most difficult goal is keeping in my calorie range each day. But writing everything down means I can see where I ate too much or ate something, like pesto or hummus, that was a secret calorie sucker. I learn if I'm eating enough veggies and fruit. Am I in my diabetic carb range today?
Won't learn anything like that from two protein shakes a day.

    Kudos go out to you for spreading the Spark (even though it was on dear ears). What SP has to offer and what we can do for ourselves here is far better than just to shakes a day. We can do two shakes a day however, exercising is shaking up our bodies.
    Have a great new week and keep tracking and learning.....this is key to success.
