Eating Well - Crockpot Style Today

Since I've been focusing on eating healthier, I have had these small bouts of craving for soup. Seems funny to me especially since it's summertime! I was recently having one of these cravings and decided to make Manhattan Clam Chowder - one of my favorites. I realized I was short on fruits and veggies yesterday, so the timing is good. I usually make it on the stove, however I found a crockpot recipe I'm trying.
My favorite things about the crockpot:
1. dinner is already cooking
2. the crockpot creates less heat on this hot day (than the stove or oven)
3. I've been thinking all day about my yummy dinner
4. seeing the crockpot all day is also an all day reminder to eat healthy
