Grocery Shopping

Thursday, August 02, 2012

A new supermarket opened near my house and it has an automatic water mister that keeps the produce fresh. Just before it turns on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh hay.

In the meat department, there's an aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread and cookies.

For the record, I don't buy toilet paper there anymore.

I stole this from another sparkperson.

lol-- love it :) One of the grocery stores I go to really does have the thunder before the mist comes on in the produce section.. I think that is so neat when it does that :)

It was a great blog. I've actually been in stores with the cows and thunder/rain just like the blog said. The aroma from the bakery is a constant at the store near my house. I've learned - with great difficulty - to ignore the scent. My bank makes cookies and coffee every Friday in the hopes of having customers come in, sit, read a mag or news paper and eat cookies while drinking coffee. Not sure what the hopeful gain is, but it's all free. We are now going out of our way not to go there on Fridays.

It's wonderful marketing. And it's fun and tasty, if you let yourself enjoy it all.

Thanks for sharing a great and fun blog. emoticon
