Poco a poco

Things are progressing slowly but surely. I've been eating healthy and have been alcohol free for nearly two weeks now, though I have not been working out as much as I would like this week, mainly because I've been spending more time on my thesis and helping DH sort issues with the house.

I'm very happy with how my housekeeping routines are progressing, and I have even started to declutter some drawers and am considering taking on my closet. There are probably a lot of old clothes that I need to get rid of, but I am a bit of a hoarder and I have a hard time justifying throwing/giving things away, even if I haven't used them for years. However, I do recognize how freeing it can be to clear out closets and create more room in my life.

I've created a thesis plan and I spent a few hours today. I am trying to get my head into the game still, but I can feel it coming . . . One month to go until work starts!

Hee, I just love throwing stuff away, like you said, it's so freeing! Way to go on the alcohol, it's one of the hardest things for me, I find it nearly impossible to go out and not have at least a couple of caƱas... But good idea about the 0% clara, I'll thy that too.

Actually, when I cleaned my closets I found a whole bunch of stuff I forgot about, grew out of, and could now fit in again. It was like shopping without a creditcard.

Zo - send me some declutter strength! I'm gonna need it!
Sasikhasi - DH and I are trying to cut back because we want to get pregnant soon. It is really hard not to drink here in Spain because it is so much part of the culture to have a glass of wine or two with dinner. We did do a few months cold turkey a few years ago when we lost the first 15 pounds each. My "replacement drinks" are iced tea, diet tonic water with some juice, or what I call "fake beer soda" . . . 0,0% alcohol beer with some lemon soda (very popular summer drink here!) Since I won't be drinking for the foreseeable future (2-3 kids = 3-5 years) I might have to invent some more virgin "cocktails" to get me through social gatherings. Thanks for the encouragement!

My husbnd is a recovering alcoholic and has been dry for over 10 years. Not saying you have a problem, but way to go for giving it up. It is not an easy thing to do. Stay the course and keep up the good work.
