sweaty, happy and feeling stressed about getting my daughter in motion

work out down - two miles of indoor power walking. I used to think that indoor walking was crap, but sitting here covered in sweat with a few muscles that haven't been used for kicking in a while, I think i was wrong :) I am sure I will need to move up (more miles, walking with weights etc) down the road, but for now, two miles and I am feeling worked out!!!!

so I am an exercise rookie - as in, I know what to do, I am just not very disciplined about doing it. I grew up on a farm so exercise was throwing hay and feeding calves and playing outside in the fresh air all day. We sat down at lunch and dinner. and yes, I survived with 6 channels of television.

So, the need to exercise ON PURPOSE is not something ingrained in me. I have friends that grew up in the city and they had parents that went to the gym and went running or to play tennis or whatever. But that isn't an example I had.

So I am working hard on instilling that motion on purpose attitude into my babies. They go to work with me and it is really easy to get onto my desk chair and stay there. Meanwhile, they are cooped up all day with no sunshine or fresh air. Not too big a deal for my son who runs outside the minute we get home and stays there until I drag him in. But my beautiful baby girl is not the same.....she would honestly grow attached to the remote/laptop given the chance.

I AM RESPONSIBLE for changing this in my household. Move it Move it Move it
