The first step to the new me

I came across this website this morning and decided why not give Sparkpeople a try. I did well on my calories and even workout for the first time in months today. I am going to take this one day at a time to loose 70+ lbs. Looking forward to tomorrow's journey.

    Deb,. emoticon you will be so glad you found SparkPeople Web site. emoticon It is full of articles, tips, recipes, tracking your food, exercise and more. Not to mention all the support that is available. It may seem a little overwhelming at first, just like you said, "take one day at a time." There are several support teams you can join. emoticon Find the ones that most relate to you. Example: I am diabetic and have joined "Managing your Diabetes". The team members will support you, giving you encouragements in the area you need it most. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We are all here to help one another. emoticon
    It doesn't matter where you are in your journey there is someone that is there now, or have been there and know what kind of struggle you are facing. We are in this together and we will get though it together. emoticon emoticon at time and together emoticon

    You will find that this is a great site with lots of tools to help you along the way.

    Everyone is on this site for the same reason so you will get a lot of support. Take advantage of what they have to offer.

    The one thing I found the best was the food tracker. It keeps you honest so you can`t lie to yourself and say I haven`t had that much today so I can have this or there really isn`t those many calories in this etc. Takes a while in the beginning but once you start to build up your favorites and your groupings it gets much easier/quicker to use.

    Will help you to make better choices - if you know you have to enter it you may chose to eat less of it or something healthier instead.

    Join some teams - read the blogs - partipate in the community.

    Above all remember - You can do this!

    Welcome! I find that tracking my food is the biggest help to me. If I don't track I tend to go over my calories. You'll find a ton of great people on here to help keep you motivated and offer some great tips.
