Trying To Get Back In The Groove

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

It was hot but not as humid over the weekend, even into Monday - only in the mid 80s. Today it is humid and hot again though.

Saturday my son was off work and went to a friend's house. We had planned to take the air conditioner in for repair but they were not at the repair shop so we drove the 60 miles to my MIL's and priced some more stuff. My hubby is sick of it and he moaned and groaned and begged to quit and I ignored him and we pushed on. We stayed until we were half starved - no lunch again. I wanted to stay and get the garage done at least but he was crabby and insisted on leaving at 6 P.M. Low blood sugar does that to you. LOL. We ate at Backyard Burger as he could not make it home.

Sunday hubby and I got some more work done outside at home. We ended up soaked but not half dead from dehydration as we often are. He fixed the back door and straightened up the pole barn some. I cleaned the new grill, washed a teak lounger, watered the flower pots and raised beds close to the house, burned the trash, filled the feeders and bird baths. We moved the old grill to it's new spot and we cleaned it.

Monday I spent 5.5 hours thoroughly cleaning the screen room. It's 11 x 22 feet long. I took all the furniture out except for the wicker dinette table which is heavy. I washed everything and put it back. I found 2 dead mice and tons of spiders. I was soaked. Hubby still needs to clean the spa out. It's huge and deep and I don't like to get in it when no one is home. We went to Tractor Supply when hubby got off work. Hubby needs a weed eater and is shopping for one. We ate at Burger King and then went and got some Black Raspberry ice cream. We sat in the screen room last night. Hubby loved it. It is so nice in there at night.

Today my son was off and we did 4 loads of laundry. It gets done so much faster with the new washer and dryer. When we do it in the pole barn it takes all day. We get it done in half the time. I made a huge crock pot full of Italian beef.

I am getting my exercise in consistently again - 5-6 miles a day. When I'm home I'm eating better too.

Wow! You've been very busy. That crockpot full of italian beef sounds like it would be extra tasty after a day of hard work. (I'm curious, do you have a recipe you could share?)

Don't forget to log those misc. household chores in the fitness tracker! All that hard work counts!!!! Getting back to your regular routine and being able to eat meals at home will help too. emoticon If you ever feel the need to burn off excess energy when you're finished please feel free to come on down to Atlanta! LOL I admire your effort but don't have the fortitude or wherewithal to do half as much in twice the time... whew! emoticon

You are getting back in the groove..getting your exercise and eating healthy. Surely all of that work you are doing must burn off calories!

Moving along! Glad you seem to be feeling better. I, too, am getting back on track--long story but ready to get back in the saddle, so to speak! Would be so happy if this hot weather would break, if even for a short time. Please remind me of these words when I'm complaining of cold weather this winter!!!

You are one busy lady. I can understand how tired of the business of
MIL's house you and especially your hubby are. I pray that it will all
finish soon for you as you have the drive there and back as well. emoticon emoticon Wow, what a relief to know that the washing gets done in
half the time. I love that you are back to your normal positive self. I wish I
could come and give you a hand with the cleaning.
I'm glad that the temperature has cooled down for you.
Have a great month and a great day. emoticon emoticon emoticon
