Vlog Testimonial - Vloggers Team challenge

Monday, July 30, 2012

The challenge is to make a vlog and answer these three things:

1. What or who brought you to SparkPeople?
2. Where are you in your journey now?
3. Share some Woohoos.

Keep it under 5 minutes and post a vlog of it.. or if you don't vlog, share the answers via blog. I mean, that won't work to enter for the Vloggers team, but I am suggesting that for you all. - I encourage you all to do this even if you aren't in the Vlogging team. It's a great way to share about your journey with your friends. (My husband listened to mine and was more supportive after hearing this tonight..He commented that I'd certainly come a long way. I think he knows that, but perhaps he hasn't been aware of the consistent commitment it is taking.)

I want to add that my main MOTIVATION for weight loss and why I joined SparkPeople was to get healthy enough to have a safe pregnancy and to conceive a child. We'd been trying more than a year already and it helped distract me from the charting of trying to conceive a child. . (I did conceive after 6 months and 60 lbs weight loss, which was 20% weight loss.) I also knew I was not very healthy and started to worry about my mortality. My blood pressure was slightly into high blood pressure range and I was not interested in medication for it, but just to get it down with weight loss. I did get it down with the first 20 lbs and consistent exercise for 2 months.

The main reason I liked SparkPeople initially was the fun - the sparkpoints, the trivia, the information - articles, especially about motivation, and then the community aspect was appealing, though I didn't get really into it with a bunch of great Sparkfriends until I returned in 2011.

Well done, Angel!! I love the Woo Hoo!
It's beautiful that you shared your joy in being able to cross you legs. It really is the things that we take for granted that we no longer struggle with that feel so marvellous.

Your consistency is paying off not only in dropping clothing sizes but you're getting the reward for your work in that it better's you energy level and that benefits your precious son and hubby.

It's too bad your husband wasn't more involved in the process where he fled part of the journey...maybe it would do him some good too! emoticon
