Living alone and loving it - goal today to be kind to my body *spend some time reading in the sun *breathing fresh air *bump up my calories slightly and really focus on nutrition *use my new vacuum

I thought the migraine day was hard, but yesterday was emotionally hard.

I had my day all planned, I was going to buy a vacuum (as the old one blows as much dust as it picks up) and lawnmover (I tried the push mower and it is a comedy routine to see a gimpy woman hop push hop push and the results are nothing). At a slow pace get the house vacuumed and the lawn mowed. I had the meal plans copied from the previous day into this day so it was going to be easy.

But an early morning call from my Dad's care facility changed all that. He already has an infection and turned septic. He was not doing well. So there was a morning of coordinating decisions on whether to keep him there or take him to the hospital. I decided after taking three hours to explain all his medicines and irrigation routines to keep him at the care facility. So hired a iv nurse to come in an place a PIC line and start the IV meds at the care facility.

My car was nearly out of gas, but I thought I want to get over to him quickly. No such luck. Maybe because I've been so close on my calories and my blood sugar level is low....I kept missing exits and then got into the traffic for a local fair and was stressing the whole time that I was going to run out of gas. Then I got another call from the facility that needed more approval for where the IV meds where going to come from - and a hint that now was not the best time to visit.

So I got some gas, went to Target and got a vac - they had no mower. Got a call from my daughter and linked up with her for lunch. Proud of myself for making some wise choices, one of which was to eat my salad with no dressing as the cheese would have both fat and protein. Took a break at home and found one of my neighbors mowed my lawn...asked, but still haven't discovered who -- thank you kind spirit this gives me some more time. You have to wonder is they saw the pitiful sight of gimpy trying to do it herself. So. So. So funny.

I also started to put out the trash. Pulled the cart right up to the door. Then threw sacks down to the bottom of the stairs, then walked down and put them in the cart. Worked.

Then drove back to see my Dad. They had just completed putting in the PIC and he seemed resigned to staying longer in the facility than we'd originally planned. As I was there, my vision keep blacking out on me. I would have normally thought it was just low caloried, but within the last two hours I'd have salad which had nuts and cheese on them. I'd also had three glasses of water. If left before I actually fainted and drove home and put my feet up.

I've been getting great results, but I'm going to take it easier today. My plan is great other than attempting to take on all the stress of coordinating my husband setting up a new household and dealing with the ups and downs of my father's health.

So today I will vacuum, but other than that I'm going to slightly bump up my calories and sit in the sun and read. May I'll finish taking out the trash and maybe not.

Oh and then tonight I get a really happy bonus. I've dog sitting. A friend was moving into a new house. The old house already packed up and through closing and then the new house didn't pass inspection. So they are scrambling to find a new place to live and therefore I get there two little buddies until they do.

Ah dogness in my life will be very happy. I made a good turn to make progress in my journey this week. I'm seeing the possibility of flight. 20.5 pounds off on the total journey and I want to keep soaring.

First off i do have to have a wee or should i say big giggle about the description of your lawnmower and hoover as i can totally relate to both...HAHAHAHAHA.

So sorry to read that you had so many decisions to make about your dad before you could even think about you, been there with my mom and know whit it feels like, however in the end you can only get the result the doctor requires.

Good on you for making the right choice at lunch and bless the kind wee soul who mowed yer lawn. Have to admit you have an insatiable way of explaining things, i just know that you are moving in the right direction and i am happy that you took time to visit me.

Sending loadsa Love, Happiness, Support, Laughter and Sunshine from the Heart, and may the Scottish Sunshine in your Heart tonight.

Shewolf is a Howling at the moon for you tonight.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, but glad to hear he's getting good care. I am glad to hear that you're making good choices for yourself!
