Weight, garden, classes....

So... I haven't blogged in a bit. I fell off the wagon a little and put on a couple of pounds, not much but am deciding whether to update my scale or just wait until I catch up again with where my slider is right now. It almost seems like cheating to count the weight again when I lose it. emoticon

I am taking two classes (12 hours a week) on line right now and it might be part of my problem. Too much sitting in front of the computer and doing homework, taking up valuable exercise time, etc. But my Russian class ends next month and the Spanish class the month after that. Hopefully I can get into a French class that starts the end of next month (in case your wondering, I am attempting to learn the 10 most widely spoken languages). But from now on, I am going to take only one class at a time (other than inevitable overlaps with starting times). emoticon emoticon

My garden did pretty well, I was able to can about 24 pints of tomatoes, made a whole bunch of quick pickles and canned about 5 pints of those. I also got a lot of garlic and peppers. Something ate a lot of my onions when I first planted them and the deer have desimated the okra.

I think I will post in a couple of groups I've joined here for suggestions on a food dehydrater. I have one but it doesn't have temperature settings (just high and low) and I want to upgrade. I've used my other one to make beef jerky, dry pecans and a couple of other things. I want to try some herbs this year and all the sites reference specific temps for various things, thus the desire to upgrade.

Anyhow, I exercised with L. Sansone 3 times this past week emoticon,
back to 8 glasses a water a day emoticon
and have been trying really hard to "mindfully eat" emoticon
and lost a pound and a half last week emoticon,
but am not where my ticker currently has me... emoticon

Hey girl! I have been out-of-touch, too. Glad to read your post. You are keeping really busy. I was wondering...are you prepaing to be a spy...just ask'n (all those languages!! Ha! Ha!). It's been kinda crapy summer for me...had my surgery June 12th out of work four weeks...went back to work for a week...virtigo attack...out of work of week...back to work, still sick...have ENT apt on the 9th. I'm ready to get my health back and move on!!! I have managed to take off about 10 pounds (some of purpose, some not).

You keep up the good work. emoticon

Glad to have you back. Sounds like you've had a lot on your plate. Figuratively speaking, no pun intended. I wouldn't worry too much about your weight ticker. What ever you're fine with, works. I doubt that my brain would be able to handle the load of different languages that you've taken on. I've been to Mexico at least 9 times and the only thing that seems to stick is : Cervaza por

Sounds like you have everything under control - taking care of all of your garden goodies. Too bad about your onions and okra. No way to keep the deer out??? You'd think all of the work on the garden would keep your weight down.

I don't think I could take two languages at once and keep all of my rules straight. Just taking one next time is probably good. Maybe you will have some breathing room. You do need rest time.
I like to exercise with Leslie too because it's too hot to be outside.
Have a super weekend. Hugs, Nancy
