Volleyball is Still FUN for me!

Ever since I was young and played in the CYC league through school, I've always loved volleyball. Though I was never really a standout player, I held my own and played throughout high school earning a Varsity letter.
After college intramural leagues, I would play in a few co-ed recreational leagues for fun and to go out for drinks afterwards. At one point, I was playing on three teams at different locations on separate nights of the week.
Not only is volleyball something I love to do, it is how I met my DH. We were on the same volleyball team and he finally got the nerve to ask me out on a real date, not just to the group outing for drinks afterwards. It's funny, but that volleyball league brought numerous couples to the wedding altar.
However, once we got married, bought our first home and had our DS, those extra things like volleyball leagues fell off our radar.
So today was the first time I picked up a volleyball in almost 8 years. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to hit the ball around with my 7 y/o at his YMCA summer camp. Coach let me return some serves and even participate in game they played during the last 20 minutes. It felt good! I wasn't winded or tired after the 90 minute session.
Kirk still has a long way to go with the improving his fundamentals. He isn't quite sure that volleyball is in his future. But he is trying and learning and enjoying this fun sport just like his mommy and daddy!
