No, I'm not pregnant.

If I were pregnant, gaining 7 pounds over the past two months would make perfect sense. In fact, it would be a healthy way to spend a second trimester.
However, I am not pregnant. (Nor do I plan to be!) Therefore, those extra 7 pounds have no reason for existence.
Now I'm going into full-fledged crisis mode.
1. Analyze the causes: Eating far too much over vacation, eating when I'm not hungry, making poor food choices, snacking too much late at night, claiming it's too hot to work out even though I have a nice cool rec room...
2. Create a plan of action
For the food, I pulled out an old notebook of mine where I listed some great meal options. I based my grocery list on these options, so the kitchen is now filled with Greek yogurt, fruit, veggies, chicken breasts, salad, and whole grains.
The harder part is the SMS: Separate Meal Syndrome. My DH and kids will NOT eat the salmon with bulger wheat and sauteed zucchini that I have planned for dinner. So it looks like they'll be having spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, and green beans.
3. Stay committed.
And the other hard part. I'm usually good for the first three days, then decide I deserve a break. The domino effect takes over, and I am right back to Square One. So, I now plan to really USE my blog to log this journey instead of just checking in.
Signing off now. May write again later.
