Did not realize it has been so long since I updated my Sparkpage.... in this blog I want to add a SPECIAL THANKS to all my Sparkfriends! Some I met from the start of my journey, a lot I am so thrilled to have met at the Convention, and my special ones I keep meeting through the Community Boards. It is each one of you that makes my Sparkworld sooo AWESOME!! !

Welcome to my SPARKWORLD!

So glad you stopped by my SPARKPAGE!

Soon to be 5 years with Sparkpeople, I am thankful for so much. If you met me on the street, it would not take long for me to mention my love for my “Sparkworld”. More than likely, I would be wearing one of my SP t-shirts. I have information on the outside of my locker at work. In a doctor waiting area, (with Mom or Father in law) I usually have “THE SPARK” book or the SP cookbook in my hand.

To describe my gratitude and express my thanks, you can read my blog dated Sunday Oct 18, 2009. That was my second year in my Sparkworld, I had a front row seat at the Cincinnati Spark Convention on Sept 26, 2009. There I met SparkGuy Chris Downie. I am, and will always be, forever grateful to him for the creation of Sparkpeople. I enjoyed so very much reading his story in the Sparkpeople book. (I hope every Spark person has a copy… I love giving them out as gifts to my friends and relatives) The Convention is also where I met so many of my Sparkfriends, whom I treasure so much.

I found BEMORESTUBBORN at the beginning of my SP journey. Vivian has been a total inspiration, and she is an awesome person. Years ago, recommending the book “Fattitudes”, she helped me stop being an emotional eater. Vivian also taught me the truth that I will never achieve my goals until I learn to take care of ME first. That was a hard lesson to learn, being the care giver I have been for so many years. Jump over to BEMORESTUBBORN’s Sparkpage whenever you need to be inspired, like I will always continue to do!

One of my favorite quotes is from Bobby D31 (Thanks Bobby!)
“We ALL have setbacks. ACCEPT IT, HANDLE IT and MOVE ON!!”

I took a fall at work in July 2010, which created my biggest setback in my Sparkworld. Causing serious lumbar and thoracic strains, and causing a sacroiliac dysfunction which kept me from being able to walk, stand, or even sit more than 5 minutes at a time for many months. I made very bad eating choices which caused me to gain not only all of my weight back, but I reached an all time high weight, 215 pounds.

Although I am still only working 4 hours a day, and I still have problems with my sacroiliac, I am “moving on”. I am back on the road to reaching my goals and becoming a healthier ME
From 215 pds to current weight 158. (only 19 pds from reaching my goal!)
I have yo yo dieted all my life, no big deal to gain and lose 20 or 30 pds over and over. I did it for many years. However, this is the first time in my life I will soon reach my goal WITHOUT DIETING!!! I LOVE IT!! I am so confident and secure in knowing I don’t have to worry about how to maintain my weight, I will just continue to make healthy choices, live a healthy lifestyle of balance, portion control and stay within my calorie intake. I am discovering, through my lifestyle changes, that most of the time I actually PREFER the healthier foods! Suddenly, (it took me longer than most people) I finally get it! I reached the AWWW moment, it clicked! For the first time in my life, I feel totally in control of my weight!

Following Sparkguy Chris 10+ daily exercise principle, not only keeps me moving on days I don’t think I can, but it keeps me motivated.

Wishing you fun along your Spark journey – hope you find YOUR never-ending SPARK!!
4-ever Sparked! Becky
