24 weeks today. . . only 15 more to go!!

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Only 15 more weeks to go and she'll be here!!! It's going so much faster than I need it to be going!! I have so much to do and so little time. Within those 15 weekends, the whole family will be out of town for two of them, I'll be out of town for another, my husband for another and I have showers planned for three!!! That only leaves EIGHT functional weekends!!! Not cool!! And the first shower is at my house on September 8th and I would LOVE to have the nursery cleaned out and painted AND have the carpets cleaned before then so I've got a lot to do on the couple of weekends I've got available until 9/8!! This weekends agenda, register, purchase the dresser since it's on sale until 8/5, purchase the rug since I need it to make sure the other colors will go and clean out my closet to make room for my husband's stuff so he can clean his stuff out of the nursery!

BIG WEEKEND!!! Good thing we are starting today on my closet!!

In other news, I had my 24 week check up on Monday. I'd only gained 2.2lbs, according to the doctors scale, since the 20 week appointment but you may remember that I did NOT believe that number was real at all!! I'd JUST eaten Chipotle because we had the ultrasound appointment before, then an hour break over lunch before the actual appointment. Not a fair number. I was glad for it though!! And other than weight, everything is looking good!! I'm measuring right on track, the heartbeat is going strong, I'm not having any abnormal swelling or anything like that. Nothing to be concerned about! Next time I'll have to do the glucose test which I've been assured has been improved significantly from the last time I had to take it!! If I remember right, I had to go in first thing in the morning, drink the nasty, nasty juice and sit around for hours with nor food or going to the bathroom waiting for something to happen before they could check me. Now, I'm told to eat normal and show up 15 minutes before the appointment and I've been told the juice is not as bad but it sure looked the same.

emoticon Weight: 19.2lbs. Not so bad. It could be worse but I'm not sweatin' it. I'm still hopeful that I can stay under 35lbs total. . . according to my scale. According to the docs who didn't weigh me until I was about 14 weeks, I'll very likely stay under 35lbs, but I know my weight from around the time of conception so I think I will have a better, all encompassing number.
emoticon Sleep/Energy: I must be getting that energy burst people talk about during the second trimester. I've only been getting about 6 hours of sleep for one reason or another but I seem to have much more energy than I did at the beginning! MUCH more. Before, if I had a night alone, I would have dropped C off at volleyball and gone home for a nap but last night, I dropped her off, went to Target to get a few things, stopped by Sherwin Williams for paint samples for the nursery, but all the Target stuff away, did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen and still had time to watch a little TV before I picked C up. And STILL didn't go to bed until about 11:30! And I'd woken up at 5:45!! And I had to wake up at 5:45 again today! Go figure! And earlier this week I just decided to clean my bathroom, toilets and all. . . just because. Maybe I'm nesting??? Anyhow, it gives me great hope that I'll get everything done this weekend!
emoticon Eating: I'm just eating whatever at this point. Lucky for me, all these years on SP have paid off and although I still want junk, it really is offset by wanting fruit and salads. Very happy with that.
emoticon Baby purchases: As I mentioned, I'm doing some shopping this weekend finally that is baby specific, but I did buy her a sock monkey that was on clearance at Target last weekend. It's purple and so cute! C found it and we just had to have it. (And now, C's been using it as her cuddle monkey at bed time. Who was the monkey for again??) And if you count it, I bought a hanging closet organizer for my closet to help make room for Paul's stuff. I need it to make room for baby so it counts right?? And the paint samples. They count right?? It all makes me feel like I'm actually preparing for her so I'm counting it all!!
emoticon Symptoms: I officially cannot wear any of my bras anymore. They cut into my boobs and give me a weird top boob bra line that is just not attractive and just not okay. Totally noticeable. I'm having a debate though. Buy a really good bra for the remainder or buy a nursing bra for if/when breastfeeding works out? I forgot I need to do that this weekend too!
I've also been a major crier. It's a bit ridiculous! I went to pick up a photography certificate last week for the benefit and was thanking the photographer for the donation and I totally started crying!! That's almost reasonable but would NEVER have happened before!!
emoticon Workouts: One 40 minute treadmill walk yesterday! Well, I kind of count last Friday too. I was on my feet from 11:30am until 12:30 am the next morning setting up and running the benefit. I hurt like you wouldn't believe the next day!

And since C is babysitting this week and leaving the house at the break of dawn, I didn't get a picture this week but I have one from last week. Here's me at 23 weeks!
