Day 4... How do you feel about protein shake meal replacements??

Well I missed a cpl days blogging but i'm not going to stress over it. The gym nights have been working out great for me!! I was not feeling to well last night but I still went, and that is a big step for me. Before, I would just look for reasons not to go.

On the other hand, my eating has not been good at all. I have to get on a regular schedule for eating, I have such a problem with late night snacking since I dont really eat for most part of the day. I found a protein shake that I am going to try (has 25g of protein in it) as a meal replacement for at least breakfast so I am getting something into me so I wont be so hungry at night.

If anyone has any advice or opinions on protein shakes/meal replacements please share your thoughts, it would be a wonderful help!!!

    IMHO, I love healthy smoothies with protein and hemp among other good additions but I do not like "replacements." It doesn't prepare you for maintaining when you have reached that goal weight. You can live a healthy lifestyle, enjoy food, your smoothies, and keep that portion control intact. I just feel that losing weight sensibly, slowly, and healthily was preparing me for the rest of my life. You're not alone because I had a time battling my late snacking but I started keying on fruits and good fuel. Get rid of all the snack junk and it just prepares you better. You're doing your gym work and that's great. Just remember to fuel clean to give you more energy, and oddly enough, feel better. Stay strong and be well...

    I don't have any experience with protein shakes, but a nutritionist recommended that I eat a Kashi Protein bar or a Clif bar prior to working out and that has really helped me. I found I actually had to increase the amount of food I was eating, including protein, because of my daily exercise. It helps to keep me satisfied and by the time I'm finished working out, I'm ready for a light meal! emoticon

    I drink a protein shake with a banana for breakfast on the days I work. I am not a big breakfast fan, but by the time I get to work, I am hungry and can't really eat. But I can drink, so I drink a protein shake on those mornings. They hold me over for about 2 hours, as a meal should, and then I have a snack which lasts me another hour or so until it is lunch time. It works for me. I love it and totally recommend it.
