You have my prayers as I know the problems that our forgotten veterans did not get the necessary services needed when they came home. He should have a counselor in VA counselor that could offer some assistance, and I will pray for you both as you are on this journey.
Lynn, this vlog is very good - This discussion is so meaningful to what we all struggle with - our addictions no matter what they are - when we are totally honest with ourselves, we can then overcome and it is fight. It is not easy, especially for something that has been occurring for such a long time, and has other circumstances involved, but if we live long enough, we will live long enough to have troubles, to have pain, to have to fight to come above it. You are so right, depression for many of our addictions is the impetus and if we work, however we have to work, for me it starts with my relationship with God, and including counseling and learning to believe weeping may endure for a night, and knowing that Joy will come in the morning. For that and that alone, I am climbing up and out of the pit that life can create - I know I don't have to stay in that mindset - I can accomplish, I can overcome, I can move forward, I can be committed to change. Staying in a situation is also a commitment - I just choose to now be committed to living a celebratory life through Christ that strengthens me. Do I still have moments, oh heck yea, and I pray first to move forward to garner strength to count my blessings and be committed. Blessings to you today. 2638 days ago
