A new outlook on stocking up the house

Thursday, July 19, 2012

My poor son was coughing in the middle of the night, and the endless issues with getting my daughter to sleep were in full force, and all of that adds up to very little unbroken sleep for mama. BUT, I still feel like I am on track to have a great day filled with lovely food and hopefully and little bit of exercise.

I have been popping in to the grocery store to restock the house with fresh food instead of relying on a well stocked (read: canned!!! and boxed) pantry and frozen bags of veggies. I am happier eating fresher. And we all know that fresh, seasonal is tastiest and most filled with nutrients. So, instead of going every two weeks to the market and then maybe going in for a little fruit, I am going to take a cue from Taylor's godmother who is Italian and goes to the store every morning to plan a menu based on what looks fresh and tasty. Surely this approach will have us eating better food and allow me to cook quick, healthy meals without needing to defrost etc.

Lets see how it goes!!

today's goal

STILL struggling with the water issue. I am going to get through 10 glasses today if it kills me. and NO pop until I do. I have never been a major soda drinker, but lately, I just crave a diet coke from McDonalds. I have no idea why but I do know that it needs to stop already!!!

Have a wonderful, healthy day
