Now or Never Moments

Do you ever have a moment where you feel a slight surge of energy and motivation to accomplish something that you know you should do but are feeling way too lazy to accomplish? I am noticing these "Now or Never Moments" a lot more since I started exercising regularly, but I used to get them a lot with cleaning or other mundane tasks too.
It used to be that I would feel this energy and think "I should go to the gym!" (or on a run or ride etc) and the moment would be so fleeting that I would let any little excuse derail me: I planned on cooking dinner in a minute, it looks like it's hot outside, my gym clothes are in another room, my ipod isn't charged... I'm sure you all have a list a mile long of these little excuses. All it takes is one and the moment would pass and I would just be content with being lazy and I wouldn't do anything and then at the end of the night I would think of all the times I could have worked out but just didn't feel up to it. Repeat the cycle a few times a week.
Now, I'm learning to recognize "Now or Never Moments" and to move with all deliberate speed to act in them. One day a few weeks ago, this meant going on a run when I heard thunder (realizing I wouldn't work out once it actually started raining). Yesterday it meant going to boot camp even though it was raining and making the boyfriend cook dinner so I could also get a short bike ride in after the rain stopped.
I read a quote that is really sticking with me "If you're sick of starting over, stop giving up". This is yet another new mantra (maybe I should make a blog post with all of these!) along with Power Through It. I'm putting one foot in front of the other, even when I don't want to. Eventually it will become a thriving habit. I'm getting better already, my work outs are more consistent and it takes me less time to talk myself into doing them.
If you have a "Now or Never Moment" realize how fleeting it might be and GET MOVING!!
P.S. I was just thinking that this phrase could apply to eating as well. I often think, I'll have this one splurge or cheat item, and THEN I'll cut down on it. But really, it's now or never for food too. If you always wait until the next time to make a healthier choice, it might never happen. Do it now.
