My Mom, my friend!!

Friday, July 13, 2012

July 3rd of this year my mom turned 71. Unfortunately she ended up in the ER on that date. She has had so many problems for a while. She is an amazing, beautiful, caring, loving, giving person. 3 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Noboby in our family has ever had cancer of any kind... we were shocked. Then she found out that the medication she was taking for hormone therapy had a side effect... it can cause breast cancer. Just great... She had a masectomy, went through chemo, which almost killed her. She had 3 treatments and her cancer doctor said no more because she couldn't handle it. She had been doing pretty well except she is very sensitive and cry alot. That's just not her. She gets upset over the littliest things.. again not her. This past November she was having problems breathing and would get some pressure points around her heart. She went into the hospital on 2 different occasions and had all kinds of tests run and nothing. They changed her medications around and she seemed to be better. Just reallly really tired. Then 3 weeks ago it started again. They thought she was having a heart attack, she wasn't. They thought she had a blood clot in her lung.. she didn't. It's all because of stress... I've always heard that stress can kill you, she is a good example. Her doctor has told her she has to get a handle on it or she may not last another year. I love my mom very much! She has always been there for me... She has helped my out alot since my divorce, financially and emotionally. I have a 8 year old son who had to undergo 3 surgeries when he was 3 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 6. She has been very supportive. But, she worrys constantly. I also have a older brother that was in a accident at work last year. He had a concussionn and is still having some problems. Then my nephew who is in the Air Force is in Guatar for another 3 months. I understand why she worries, but she can't fix everything. I still want and need her. She is very loved. She is not just my mom she is also my best friend!!!

I know how you feel. I lost my mom in 2002. I truly miss her. It saddens me, when I look at her picture. Be joyful each day that you still have her.

For your momma. I hope she is feeling better soon and I hope that she is able to relax. I honestly don't mean this to sound cheesy, but is there a relaxing exercise she can do? Yoga? Meditation?
