Training Week 4

Another week of training has gone by and I am sticking to it the best I can. It was in the 100s all week, so I was very thankful for the gym. I got all my training in except for yesterday because I had to do yard work, which I guess is kind of a workout as well. On Saturday was my swim, bike, run for 90, so I did 30 minutes of each. I swam about 3/4 of a mile in the pool, then it took me about 20 minutes to dry off and get changed. I'm glad I don't have change in the transition from swim to bike in a real tri. I hate putting on a sports bra when I'm wet! Anyway.. then on to the bike where I biked 8.5 miles in 30 minutes, then straight on to the treadmill where I did about 3.3 miles in 30 minutes. I don't know exactly how I did on the treadmill, but I know I kept it above a 6 the whole time and went for at least 30 minutes. It felt great! My boyfriend was at the gym with me and said he watched me swim for a while and I was very focused, then on the treadmill, he said I looked very sweaty, but strong :)
My swim seemed like it went especially well. I watched a youtube video about swimming and tried a couple of the points it mentioned. Mostly, I concentrated on my kicking. The video suggested three kicks per arm stroke, so I aimed for that and it kept me kicking the whole time, which made me go faster. Sometimes I feel like swimming is a lot like trying to rub my belly and pat my head at the same time. I concentrate on my arms and my legs just float or vice versa. This time, it seemed that when I really focused on my kicking my arms did what they are supposed to; at least mostly.
One thing that troubles me is that my weight seems to be staying steady no matter how much I diet or how much I work out. The very first 2 weeks that I started with Sparkpeople, I lost 6 pounds. Then I got sick and didn't work out at all and fluxed between nausea and starvation for a couple months. I didn't gain any more weight, but I didn't lose any either. In the past month that I have been training hard and counting my calories, I have only lost about 2 more pounds. I know I am not really over weight, so losing weight is slower, but it is still frustrating.
For the most part it has been another productive week and training is going well. Now I need to get up the nerve to sign up for an actual triathlon.
