Trying This Again

Monday, July 09, 2012

I knew this would happen. I just knew it would happen. I would get snapped in a photo and have to come to grips with that fact that I'm almost back where I started. Or at least I look like I'm back where I started. A new hobby of mine is yarn crafting. I was able to pick up crochet easily through YouTube tutorials and then moved on to using patterns but knitting wasn't so easy. This past Saturday I had a blast in my first knitting class. While knitting pictures were being snapped and oh no reality I'm back to being the old me again.

Ugh and the weight gain goes straight for the chest and tummy and there's only so much holding in one can do before it's like just forget it.

I've been praying for motivation to get back into what I know works. I don't like running anymore (sorry Coach Nancy and probably 95% of Sparkers!!!!) but I did take off more than half the original pounds lost prior to running. So today I will make my Day 1 of trying this again. I will start by picking up some healthy foods and tracking my foods then in the morning get in a workout session. If I did it before I can do it again.

You definitely can do it again!
I'm sure you've heard the expression, "Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it"? Well, I have learned to change the word "wish" for "pray" in that statement. Prayers get answered, and sometimes not the way we had in mind. So I don't pray for patience anymore because I've learned (the hard way!) that God doesn't give patience, he TEACHES it. And I don't pray for humility anymore, because God doesn't give us humility, he humbles us :)
So, I guess your prayer for motivation has been answered in the form of unflattering pictures....?
Kudos for recognizing what you need to do and taking the initiative to do it!!

You can DEFINITELY do it again. You are NOT defeated. You will win this battle that is raging in your mind. Just get back to basics. 10 minutes a day. Track all your foods and GET ACTIVE on Spark and in the world. Don't worry about what you used to do and how that work. Take up something new or something basic. Walking is the best exercise and the one that MOST people do consistently for the longest period of time. Do that. Don't hide. You've been hiding. But, get back visible and get back accountable. Thank God for reality check and then get on to your faith walk. You can do ALL things through Christ. DO IT!! Holla if you need me.

And you CAN do it...it's all about what you want and where you feel the most comfortable with yourself. I too have lost and then gain it all back (but 20 lbs). I too will lose it, again, only this time I have a better motivator...my health.
Good luck with your choices, I know you'll make good ones! emoticon
