We have all seen great and strong buildings blown up and destroyed, either on purpose on by accident. We have seen things we thought were sturdy to fall apart. We have seen things we thought were immoveable to move. We need to be careful about what, and who, we put our hope and trust in. We have a God and a heavenly Kingdom that is unshakable. One day, there is going to be a shaking of both heaven and earth (Hebrews 12:26-27). We need to be sure we are secure in God’s word and worshiping Him with fear and awe so we are clinging to Him when things start to shake.

Hebrews 12:28 “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know how mighty and powerful You are. We know You have the ability to shake things up. We also know when we are strong in Your word and clinging to You, we will not be moved. Help us today, Lord, to understand the importance of fearing You and spending time being thankful and worshiping You. Allow Your Holy Spirit to help us be who You want us to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Then there will be a New Heaven and a New Earth when the shaking is through. This is where we will spend Eternity. Those who are believers will not be there at the time of the shaking. Jesus will take them with Him. So we will have nothing to fear. As believers, we do not have anything to fear. This fear means to reverence Him, to worship and praise Him. To joy before Him for Who He is. I hope this helps.

The concept of "fearing Him" disturbs me.
