Wow its been a while since I blogged. I really should get back into the habit.
Last weigh in, pre-vacation, was 177 lbs. I'm at high school weight, and getting into very unfamiliar territory. I'm scared that I will plateau and 'settle' here - it was good enough when I was 18, after all. I can fit into my wedding dress again. Etc. But I do NOT want to settle her. I still have a gut, and I want to get rid of it. I want to do a pull up. I want to be able to tackle the stairs. I have come a long way - but I have a long way to go yet.
What does this have to do with Amusement Parks? Well, on the weekend I went on a mini vacation and visited a friend in Pittsburgh. I confess I indulged a little while I was away - and I don't feel guilty about it, because it was a treat, a once and a while thing. I know I won't be in that situation again for at least another year. And I still ate healthy most of the time, healthier than a 'normal' day last year. And I walked, and walked, and walked. I even managed to get to Curves.
On Monday, my friend and I went to Kennywood, a wonderful amusement park in Pittsburgh. We went last year, and we were both big girls. Squeezed into all the seats, but had a great time any way. This year, I was 40 lbs lighter. I fit into the cars so much better. I didn't feel 'squeezed'.
I was even able to go on a ride I couldn't last year because I didn't fit. It was really fun - the Racer, built in 1927, on a continuous track. Old me would not have fit in the seats, but I not only fit this time, but I fit comfortably. I even joked that on some rides, I felt a little too loose in the seat - what if I fell out? It was weird - good weird - to slide in and out of the seats on the rides without issue, to walk all day and not have sore legs, to hop over to the loose item bin to drop off the backpack and back and not even think about it.
Had a salad for lunch, so the dipped ice cream later, and a shared order of cheesy fries? Did not feel in the least guilty. It'll be a year before I'm back, and what is a hot active day at an amusement park without some ice cream?? (or Pittsburgh without at least a few cheesy fries?)
