This is the answer to my motivational challenge this week:

Are you happy? Yes, I am happy. Do I yearn for other things or life situations sometimes that I think would make me happier?? YES! But then again, I think that is what normal human beings do: strive for more!

How do you even know IF you are happy? You are happy when you are surrounded by your loved ones, when you are at peace with the situations and people surrounding you. When you realize how much more than others you have and what's most important, that your problems can be fixed with something as insignificant as money when there are people that have tons of money and problems that not even all the money in the world can solve. You know you are happy if you still have your parents and still speak to them in a friendly manner and when you are friends with your brothers/sisters.

What is happiness? Happiness is a feeling that comes from within, but it is also a conscious decision. A decision one makes to make the best of what faces you in life. To see the positive side of things, to not let adverse circumstances ruin your life or your outlook on it. Happiness feels warm, makes you smile and makes the people around you smile. It's the feeling you get after completing a particularly grueling workout or when you achieve the next goal in your weight loss. Sort of like satisfaction mixed in with... well... let's see... plain happiness! Ah, yes, I know you're not supposed to define a word with itself... but I couldn't find a better alternative!

Believe me I do have my bad days, but for the most part God has blessed me with the ability to see the bright side of things.

    Absolutely wonderful blog!

I loved what you said "that your problems can be fixed with something as insignificant as money when there are people that have tons of money and problems that not even all the money in the world can solve."

Sometimes the biggest worry in life is money - but it shouldn't be that important to us. I mean sure, if we're on the edge of being evicted or going hungry, then yeah money is extremely important, but in these situations, it's much more than just money. You know?

I think you hit the nail on the head.

    Great blog!

What a wonderful blog! Sometimes I'm not sure if I'm happy or not, but then I think of the wonderful things in my life that don't cost money and still my life great. You're right though...not all rich people are happy. Money doesn't = happiness, although so many people think it does.

Happiness is sometimes difficult to see in our lives. There are times when I'm very depressed, in major pain (chronic pain issues), and think it'll never end. Then something surprising will happen and I'll se a light at the end of the tunnel. Believe it or not, that brings a little hope and happiness to me.

Thank you for writing this blog. I think it's great how you voiced your thoughts about this tricky issue! emoticon
