Turning Tears into Smiles Collage`

Monday, July 02, 2012

Hi All,

The following collage` is of my granddaughter getting her hair cut, she donated 2 pony tails for wigs to give to cancer patients who have lost their hair. That day Nyla helped turn tears into smiles by donating her hair...

Woo-hoo way to go Nyla, Grandma is so proud....

YAY! Teaching them service at any age and ability is a good thing. I have donated mine before too, so if you see a cancer patient with grey streak in her hair, it just may be mine.

What makes this so special is Nyla suggested this on her own, one day she came home from kindergarten and said to her Mom she wanted to donate her hair for making wigs, she has a friend at school whose mother has cancer, she lost her hair through chemotherapy, I think she was talking to the kids telling them how grateful she was for the hair she received through people donating their cut hair and was thankful for the successful treatment that was available for her. This Mom is a survivor...Thank you Jesus, it made such an impact on Nyla she asked her Mom if kids could donate their hair, my daughter looked into it and found a hairdresser who would cut Nyla's hair to shoulder length...You can see by the pictures what a great job she did and how PROUD Nyla is and of course how much Grandma is also.... Yeah Nyla...
