Guess I showed her! (7 yo) Now, where's my ice & ibuprofen?

Saturday, June 30, 2012

See, there was this little 7 year old who takes gymnastics & she was showing off her cartwheels & round offs... yeah. So I had to show her up. I did a front hand spring & it went very well although the landing was a little rough.

I told her how when I was a kid, I made up this thing that I liked to call, "THE FOUR SEASONS!!" I would say, "Winter" and do a cartwheel, "spring", and do a one handed cartwheel, "summer" and I would do a round off, but I neglected to realize until I landed FALL that the reason it was called FALL was because after all those other moves, I never had the momentum to pull of the front hand spring grand finale & landed one my bum/back. LOL. Perhaps, it was a fairly significant jolt. Perhaps. Yoi. Not one of my brighter moments.

I told my husband how I hurt myself this morning & I said, "But I can do these things!!" He laughed & said, "No, you can't Nemo. Well, you can do these things but you have to start slow & build up muscles. You can't just go balls to the wall crazy. You'll hurt yourself." Really??? He's so smart! lol.

Even though my WONDERFUL chiropractor adjusted me, I've been using Biofreeze on my neck & shoulder along with ibuprofen because my neck is still so stiff & sore. I don't think I'll be trying gymnastics anymore. DH's right. I'm just getting too old for that stuff. emoticon

It reminds me of when my husband tried to play tennis with our kids at a resort. Within about 15 minutes he had pulled muscles in one of his legs. He went to the spa to try to get a massage but it was closed because it was Christmas Eve.
Needless to say, he has never played tennis since.
