I live in SW Florida... I should not be FORCED to wear shoes.... EVER!!

If I could pretend I was in elementary school/middle school/ high school... I could probably get away with it... again... but not anymore. I used to run and jump and play soccer barefoot... all the time.... and I never had any problems. I loved it.. feeling the cool grass between your toes when it is sweltering outside was always so awesome. Even the sand at the beach.. a natural exfoliate.. was awesome, even if you had to walk on the white lines in the asphalt so you didn't burn the crap out of the bottoms of your feet on your way back to the car.

Even though it is illegal to drive without shoes on.. I take them off anyway.. why? Because I am a no, really because I learned to drive barefoot and its easier.

Forget it... this weekend at work is a NO SHOE WEEKEND!!! [as long as none of the Administrative staff is around ] emoticon

I live in SW FL too. east FT Myers to be precise. I have lived here for 8 years and for 5 years on a caribbean Island in Honduras before that. I have been flip flopping since 1999. Last fall I started to feel dizzy due to weight and I decided I needed to wear sneakers to help me not fall. At first my feet felt like they were in jail but now I actually LOVE them. I feel much more stable

I used to wear flip flops all the time in college.. Now I just walk around in socks at home to keep my feet warm. I have to wear shoes to work since I work in a kind of medical clinic. They don't want to be liable if a needle falls on your toes or something like that. But even at the front desk you have to have close toed shoes. it sucks.
