reaction to being the heaviest member on a team challenge

Saturday, June 30, 2012

this morning I stepped on my scale to weigh in for one of the challenges and it read 328! I wish!!! (Obviously it's broken...hopefully just needs a battery...otherwise I lost like 35 lbs in a week...if only) But I remembered (with mom's help via phone) something my TOPS weight recorder used to say....There is always someone who ONCE WAS your weight and someone that wishes THEY WERE your weight... so some of those people on your team may have been your weight..use them for motivation and inspiration....and if you weigh less than 356...I am jealous and am wishing I was where you are.. emoticon

No matter what our starting weight we all have weight to lose and we are worth losing it every pound. So hang in there and remember every step toward your goal is getting you there. You can do it.

Great blog Heidi. I'll have to remember that. You are doing great by the way. I wish I was losing like you. I gained 2 lbs this week but I know where that came from. Keep it going!

We all had a starting point. Mine was 349 in March (before SP) and 331 in May when I joined SP! Don't worry. Focus on YOUR journey! Make YOUR plan. Being in a challenge is a great place to make progress!

This is so TRUE!! I love this blog! I have often told myself the same thing in the past in some form or another. It has been even more evident since joining SP. I would see a picture of someone who is thin and healthy and would think to myself "what do they know about being my size" but upon reading their profiles I would discover that they used to be and they were able to meet their goals. On the flip side, I often see posts from friends who are where I was when I started who are just wishing to be where I am now.
    It's so inspiring.
I'm sorry that your scale was giving you false hope; but be assured that if you stay focused and dedicated it will be no time before you are looking back on your weight now thinking "I remember being there, and I'm so glad that I'm where I am now".
You can do it!! You have a terrific outlook and lots of SparkFriends to cheer you on!

Hope you get your scale figured out! Sometimes I wish there was a fast forward button on weight loss, but then I wouldnt learn anything along the way. So trudging along sucks sometimes but its necessary. And also ... anyone who is below me ...I'm headed your way!
