Why do I sabotage myself.

Thursday, June 28, 2012

I need to stay away from dairy and sugar....and gluten...and I am sure there are more things. When I am off these things, the weight just falls off. I feel better also...so why do I keep eating these. I cannot call them comfort foods, comfort foods are suppose to make you feel better, not lethargic and just plain icky.

When I say sugar, I do not mean fruit. I tried that route before and it is not pleasant. I will be heading to the farmers market on Saturday to pick up all the veggies I need for the week. I need to make this a habit.

I am hoping that continuing to write things down will keep me on track.

I also have issues with dairy. BIG ISSUES! It is an MS thing. All of us with MS are not supposed to eat dairy. (or as little as possible)
Sugar I have a BIG issue with. I can't keep candy bars around the house or else I'm a mess. I will eat them, and my poor 13 year old daughter can't even have 1, poor kid, and she doesn't have weight issues at all.
It is a struggle to not have these things, but I guess it is just slowly getting rid of things we shouldn't have in our diet.

I am someone that is very careful of what I eat when it comes to GMO and artificial sweeteners. My daughter is always saying there is nothing in the house to eat. Well, that is because you have to put it together, whether cooking or what ever.

I went gluten free a couple years ago and immediatley dropped 15 lbs. since I have messed up a bit 6 lbs. I also do not feel as well as I did when I do not eat it.

I eat pretty well I just eat too much. I also eat my allergies which doesn't help. Sugar is an just too processed. So far today I have stayed away from bad and had a salad for breakfast.

I understand you dilemma. I can't have sugar - it makes me crave more sugar. I am eliminating gluten and I rarely eat dairy. Can't say the weight is falling off, but I just started eliminating gluten.

It's a step at a time. habits are great to start. I gradually got off sugar by replacing regular sugar with splenda and now I am to the point that I do not use splenda at all. It may take time but you will get there. emoticon
