Boycotting Floor Exercises

Today I tried Body Vive which combines cardio with a ball & resistance band. I did fine; the resistance band was brand new so stretching was really hard! Things were going great until the dreaded floor exercises. Isn't there some way to accomplish ab work without being laid out on the floor like a beached whale?
Spent some time perusing Spark People. They have a section called SparkPeople Funnies. Some are funny; some are too close to being true..... For example, in one the doctor asks his (overweight) patient - "What fits your busy schedule better, exercising one hour a day or being dead 24 hours a day?"
