Hot Stuff - and not in a good sense

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

It is HOT outside. The temperature is breaking records for the individual dates and now it is probably going to break the record for the number of consecutive days of 100 or over. Not precisely the best environment for exercise and working out.

It does cause my appetite to be diminished, but it also is just too darned hot. Temperatures of 100 or higher are just a little too warm for my taste. The heat sort of sucks all of your energy away in a matter of minutes outside. Sleep is negatively impacted. Last night it was 87 degrees outside at 11:00 p.m.! Yes, I have A.C., but I hate to use it at night. I usually have windows open at night - fresh air - and this time of year I awaken to bird song. Last night I had to leave the A.C. on all night for the first time in a few years.

I guess what is bothering me is that it is still June, just a few days into the summer season proper and look how hot it is and how dry and how many fires. Does not bode well for the next few months, I think.

At least you have AC to run. Without it, the nights have been much too hot for good sleep. I'm just glad for the 10% humidity. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have been hearing about your weather - and the Colorado forest fires - on OUR news, way up here in Canada, and thinking about you. And here we are in BC, unseasonably cold, and with flooding in areas. If only it could be all evened out. I DO hope that this hot weather does not last for you.

I know what you mean about the A/C - I used to live in Ontario, where you have to have A/C - not my favourite, especially if it goes overnight.

I do hope that this hot weather calms down for you.

This weather is strange. In England we have just had the coldest wettest june it rained nearly every day for 5 weeks and it is only in the past few days the weather seems to be improving. Wish I could send you some of our cooler weather and have a little sunshine emoticon
