Losing 300 pounds in a three month period

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Since my post of December 2011, I have come to realize that someone who doesn't want to take care of themself simply can't be forced. If they don't want to help themselves, begging won't work, lecturing won't work, being logical won't work.

It has been very hard indeed for me to realize that if two people are unevenly matched, the one who cares the least .... will "win". That "win" goes firmly in the loss column, but they think they are winning for sure.

It one person is vaguely clean and the other loves a mess, you'll have a mess. If one people wants healthy foods and the other almost force feeds junk, the house will have junk. If one person wants a life and one wants video games and a locked front door, by golly that's what will happen.

This has been perhaps the hardest lesson in my life. When I made the decision to lose 300 pounds over a three month period, half a dozen people sent me a link to the movie "he's not that into you".

Wow. Everyone knew it but me.

Tonight, after a surprise litter of kittens clearly fathered by our fixed male cat..... we had a quickie dinner of two hot dogs. Balanced, not. Quick, yes. Nutritional? Hey, I got the 98% fat free, 40 calorie kind of dogs for a small fortune. But, because we ate a total of four, instead of two packs (!) they were affordable.

Sometimes, ya just can't keep someone in the style to which they wish to become accustomed.

Sometimes once you get rid of the toxic personality, all other toxic stuff (bad food, bad habits) go out the door. Keep positive!

When I first saw the title, you scared me. Take care of yourself. With 300 lbs. gone, start your life over, and enjoy your life to the fullest. Good luck.

Hmm, sorry for your loss? Congrats on your brave move? Maybe a little of both. Ending relationships, even when they have become dead-end or toxic, still hurts. (been there, got the T shirts - yep, shirts) emoticon

My first thought was 'husband' since that's what mine weighs. lol Could also be my daughter. I may be getting my husband to start thinking healthier as he has diabetes and sleep apnea on top of watching his best friend die of lung problems. Just maybe we can all get on board because it is horribly hard without the support. I don't kinow how I did it when I lost the 130!! I did have the support of an excellent trainer and all the people at the gym where I spent at least 3 hours a day.

THAT is a powerful move! So many don't realize you have to go there sometimes. I might suggest you look at all the components of a healthy lifestyle, embrace them, and slowly, move into it. No one just jumps into exercising. Just start at ten minute increments and work from there. Also start to rid your daily diet of the bad stuff and add good stuff. When I started doing that and drinking water regularly, the natural processes took over. Slowly and steadily, the change starts. Keep sharing through your blogging. Read all the resources we have here, act, and you will see change. Embrace patience. It's a healthy lifestyle and a life's journey you are after. All the best....
