Very short blog. Did my best to find old tracker.

Monday, June 25, 2012

I had a long day on the computer.
An alert said my RECOVERY D drive is full so now what do I do.
I decided to just wing it.
I had found lots of back ups. I spent hours trying to find which were duplicates. First by date, then by top bunch of numbers as soon as I decided they were both the same I dared to hit DELETE.
There were 15 in there so I decided to take out 9 and left 6 in.
I looked all over and eventually found a circle pie to show how full it was.
It was completely blue. Still full.
I tried to remove all my picture files I could not get them to a disc.
Finally I decided to look through all of those files and manually delete them one by one.
After hours I have about 0ne eighth of a pie in a hot pink color and the notification went away.
So did my day alas and now my body aches with the stiffness of the stress from doing all of this it really is not my cup of tea.

I had apples and pears that were left over since I could not eat them after my tooth extraction so I made DH some apple and pear crisps, he loves them I love to make them.
I felt better after doing my cooking and after supper tried to find how to open the old tracker.
I gave up. I went down to the cool basement and walked 4 miles with Leslie Sansonne.
I have missed getting back to many of you. Thanks for the helpful comments. I have printed the tracker information and tomorrow I will attempt it again and if I need to I will go back to the experts to see what they can do.

Many thanks for all of your suggestions.

Good for you but what a chore. I hate any kind of administrative work but a recalcitrant computer is the worst.

I think you are a genuis for figuring it all out.

I have an external hard drive for my desk top so store a lot of my files there. They are well worth the investment. This is the one I have. I got it at Staples but they carry them just about everywhere.

    Western Digital® My Book® Essential™ USB 3.0 External Hard Drive, 2TB

You can transfer your files to the external hard drive which will make room on your computer.

I think Best Buy even offers a service where they will transfer your files to the external hard drive.

    Best of luck...

Depending how you back up your computer you probably only need one backup at a time. Oh, I do wish I lived close to you so I could help you with your computer problems! emoticon

Good luck to you. I am trying to figure out why Internet Explorer keeps telling me that I am using too much memory and I should close and then re-open the app. Do I have an app? I don't even have one of those new fangled cell phones, mine is just a pay as you go Net 10. So I shutdown and restart my laptop. Is that what they are talking about? I have no clue.

Hurray for doing the walking with Leslie and THANK YOU for all your comments on my blogs. You always have some good points. Glad the tooth extraction is over. Justyna

Beth Gilligan's directions are exactly right. But I don't know why you would want the old tracker--the new one combines cardio and strength exercises, which makes it more convenient. You just have to remember to check the little box next to the exercise you did and then "add to tracker." Good luck!

Pat--You really need to get back with the young man you were working with or find someone who can at least get your computer straightened out. I think that's a necessity! To find old tracker: (this is the way it is on my computer) Go to fitness tracker page; when the new tracker comes up there will be the box that says "what did you do today? with a Search button next to it. To the right of that will be a button that says Use Old Fitness Tracker (popup version). Click on that button and the old tracker should come up. Good luck!

If you go to your start page, there on the left hand side are huge tabs and one of them reads (I believe) TRACK MY ACTIVITY. If you click on that it will bring you to the page to track your exercise. When you get to THAT page, the new system is right on top but if you keep scrolling down, down, you'll see the entire old tracker is there.

I hope it works for you!
