Being accountable isn’t always doing what is popular. People sometimes do things which are not in line with God’s will and may want us to join in. They may want us to bend the truth or break the law. The reasons they want us to do these things may be justified in their minds as right but we have to be sure we are accountable to God first. When we feel pressured to go with the majority, we need to be sure we do what God wants and not what others want us to do.
Number 14:24 “But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to know what is right and wrong in Your eyes. Help us to be loyal to You and do what is Your will rather than doing what is popular. Help us to be accountable to You first in all we do so we are setting the example and can lead others to do the same. We trust in You to give us strength and courage during these times. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
