My first Blog!!!

Hello everyone - this is the first time I'm attempting to blog...so bear with me while I muddle on.

I decided to write this blog because in the last 10 weeks or so I have had to work extra long hours to keep up with work commitments (I'm a self employed accountant) and consequently I have barely any time to keep in touch with my SP friends. I have been a very poor friend to all ..

- but, in my defense, apart from work, we have had the worst time since May – it started in the first week of May when my brother in law suddenly did not feel too well, and had to have his gall bladder removed in an emergency operation (apparently it was swollen to 10 times the normal size).

The second week we got the news that a close friend, a year younger than my husband (they went to school together and had been best friends, he was the best man at our wedding) died suddenly after he was supposed to have got over cancer of the bladder.

The third week another friend died and in the last week of May my daughter had to be rushed to emergency at the Hospital with unbearable stomach pain and we spend that evening and the next day at the Hospital where she had a number of tests to find out what was wrong. It turns out she has a hernia in her stomach and has to be on medication for at least 6 months and under constant doctor’s supervision.

The first week of June another close friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer - she has at most two months to live.

The week after that my Mother was also diagnosed with cancer following some routine checkup tests.

As you can imagine all these events apart from taking time in the form of hospital visits and attending funerals also took a vast emotional toll. I feel 10 years older in this short time...

In all the time that these events were taking place I have had constant SP friend feed notifications from quite a few of my SP friends, and I even got added as a friend by a few more! I cannot begin to tell you what a great comfort these contacts have been to me. I just want to say, to all of you THANK YOU!!! I love you all!
