Was sick with a cold and then got dehydrated!! Not a great week!

Well I ended up missing my first appt with the personal trainer because I was sick. I'm going tonight even though I'm not completely better yet. We're just doing goal setting anyway so no exercising, I think I'm up for that now.
I always have a problem when I'm sick. I drink on average 12-14 glasses of water every day, but when I'm sick it's always a struggle to get the recommended 8. Yesterday I came back to work and I'm still not feeling the greatest of course but I was ok. I didn't eat much or drink much though, and then last night I got sick because I didn't drink enough water.
It really wasn't pleasant. I'm doing much better today though, I just started sipping water really slowly last night. I'm actually eating some oatmeal today too. I'm being very cautious mind you eating only a few bites every 15-20 mins. I can't miss any more work I already missed 2 days.
This is the first time I have ever been sick due to dehydration, at least this badly. I usually get a headache when I don't drink enough water way before I get sick lol. But this time the combination of the heat and my cold was just too much.
I've already got 3 cups of water in me today and its only just noon, so I should be able to at least get the 8 today.
Tonight I'm seeing the trainer to set all my goals and then I will be waiting until next week, maybe monday, to start actual training. I just want to make sure I'm completely better so I can really put the effort into it.
I also think I'm going to tell the trainer I don't want to be weighed. I weigh myself at home every week or 2 and thats enough. I would rather he focus on just doing his job, while I focus more on feeling better and living healthier, and less on losing weight. I think the numbers always scare me lol. So I will be putting much less emphasis on them. he can weigh me today for the first time and then maybe once a month but not every week.
